Mitchell Rosen
President
Mitchell Rosen has 30 years of retail sales, management and
marketing experience in building and contracting. He currently
serves as President & CEO of Liberty Total Comfort Systems--a
leader in Michigan in the installation and maintenance of
residential and commercial heating and cooling systems. Mitchell
was also CEO of Shared Marketing L.L.C. a leader in residential
marketing for deregulated and regulated energy companies in
the United States. Under his guidance, Shared Marketing partnered
with other energy companies and successfully helped market
natural gas to over 300,000 residential homes in Ohio &
Pennsylvania from 1997-1999.
Mitchell started his business career in the insulation business
in the midst of the 1977 energy crisis. The company, Blow
Rite Insulation, quickly grew into one of the leaders in the
Detroit area for distribution and installation of foam insulation.
In 1981, the company expanded into the heating and air conditioning
business. It was during this period that Mitchell developed
key contacts within the Michigan energy utility industry,
and worked on several committees looking into methods of saving
and conserving energy.
From 1988-1991, Mitchell was instrumental in establishing
the S.F.I. (Sales, Furnish and Install) program for the heating
and cooling program for Builders Square. At the height of
the program in 1991, Mitchell’s company had kiosks
in 23 Builders Square stores in Chicago and Detroit Area
locations.
Mitchell’s company worked with Consumers Energy and
Michigan Consolidated Gas Co. on marketing and installation
of high-efficient gas furnaces and insulation to low income
families under the State of Michigan’s Bi-Annual Energy
Conservation programs.
As an off shoot to the Bi-Annual Energy Conservation program,
Mitchell was one of the first entrepreneurs to see the potential
for the deregulated energy business in the United States.
He then started Shared Marketing to serve as a Marketing
Agent for the emerging deregulation of natural gas focusing
on the residential business. In this capacity, Mitchell’s expertise
and experience in energy marketing and conservation was recognized
nationally as he was invited to speak at several industry
seminars including being one of the key note speakers at the
1998 National Gas Fair in Toronto. In 1998 & 1999 Mitchell
served on the Advisory Board for the A.E.S.P. (Association
of Energy Service Professionals).
Mitchell has also authored several papers on energy marketing
including one of the first manuals on natural gas marketing,
“The Hometown Energy Power Broker Kit”. In 1999,
Mitchell partnered with the United States Postal Service in
promoting the “PowerMax America Strategic Sales Program”
which was designed to assist regulated and non-regulated
energy companies into forming strategic alliances with other
energy conservation industries.
Mitchell served as the Republican Committee of Oakland County
Finance Chairman from January 1997-December 1998. Recently,
Mitchell served on the City of Detroit Building, Safety &
Engineering transition team for Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. In
February 2002, Secretary of Energy Spencer Abraham appointed
Mitchell to F.E.M.A.C (Federal Energy Management Advisory
Committee) for a three year term.
